Instructions: Students are required to write a research paper of 5-7 pages in length. The essay should be double-spaced, with standard margins and standard font size. You should have at least 2-3 sources (books, journals, government reports/documents). Late paper will lose 2% of its grade for each day that it is late. Extension will only be granted for exceptional circumstances. Written assignments will be submitted online 
Topic:  The overrepresentation of Indigenous persons in Canadian prisons began at the end of the Second World War (Rudin 2008) and remains a well-documented reality based on abundant scientific and statistical documentation (Department of Justice Canada 2017). Describe a policy initiate that has attempted to address this issue. Evaluate that policy’s strengths and short-comings.
