Directions: I discussed with many of my past students about methods for providing proper credit for reading and creating accountability for being prepared for class. Many students suggested to simply stick with reading quizzes and allow students to earn credit for submitting their notes from the readings.
As you do the chapter reading, take notes on what you read — key concepts, definitions, thoughts you have, questions, etc. The content of the notes is extremely flexible. The point of the notes is not to duplicate all the details or give you meaningless busy work. The goal is to document your critical reading of the text and create references to be used throughout the semester. 
Formatting: The Format is extremely flexible: You may upload a text document, screenshots of your notes, or even a pdf of handwritten notes.
**Note: Simply highlighting the assigned text itself is not sufficient.
