A compound die will be used to blank and punch a large washer out of 6061ST aluminum alloy sheet stock 3.80 mm thick. The outside diameter of the washer is 60.0 mm and the inside diameter is 28.0 mm. Determine
(a) the punch and die sizes for the blanking operation, and
(b) the punch and die sizes for the punching operation.
A bending operation is to be performed on the part shown in Figure 14.13 in our textbook except that the dimensions are changed as follows: stock thickness = 6.2 mm instead of 3.2 mm, inside bend radius = 9.1 mm instead of 4.75 mm, and included angle = 55° instead of 120°. Other dimensions are the same. Determine the blank size required.
