Research question: Identify one
general feature of the Chinese legal system and develop a theoretical
argument on how this feature works in practice in different aspects
of the legal system.
Please use course readings from at least five different topics of this course (see attached files for all of the
readings, divided by topic) to
write a 5,000-word (minimum) paper to address this topic. You are expected to
use the readings in an integrated manner and develop an argument of your own on
the Chinese legal system. You are welcome to use external sources for the paper
when necessary; however, it is recommended that discussions
of course readings account for at least 60% of the paper’s content.
The paper should have a title and a clear statement of your main thesis in the
introductory section.
Please provide full citations for
course readings and other references in footnotes following the reference style
of the Hong Kong Law Journal (https://web.law.hku.hk/hklj/house-style.php). It is required that you cite
the original text of the course readings and do NOT cite lectures, PowerPoint
slides, or tutorial materials.
