Thinking Paper II: Muslims and Islam in Europe – Comparative Country Analysis
For this Thinking Paper, you will compare experiences of Muslims in Europe in two countries along one major theme: religious denomination, migration, race, ethnicity, gender, or nationality.
To introduce your comparison, you will first outline the significance of your chosen theme for the history of Muslims and Islam in Europe. This includes a conceptual overview in which you discuss at least two concepts (i.e. integration, multiculturalism, etc.) that have shaped experiences of Muslims in Europe in two countries as it relates to your chosen theme.
Based on this historical and conceptual framework, you will then compare experiences of Muslims in two European countries along your chosen theme within a socio-political framework (i.e. laws, policies, public debate etc.).
