Leadership Journal Assignment Instructions
Overview
It is important that you spend adequate time on the journal as you progress through the course. The primary aim of this course is self-development. This assignment asks you to document the development “journey” that you will take in the context of the course. Write your thoughts effectively as you complete the reading assignments for each module/week. Do not answer the questions yes or no. You will get out of the process what you put into it. Remember to use citations from the required readings and include a minimum of 1 Scripture to support your statements for each module/week. 
Individually, in paragraph form: 
·      Answer the central questions for the course: What is leadership? What kind of leader am I? You might assume you were in an interview and were asked these questions to help focus your thinking, but you can be more honest (if necessary) than you might be in an interview!
·      Identify the most relevant concepts for your future development (and why).
·      Clarify lessons learned (extracted from your leadership journal). What did you learn about yourself? What evidence backs up this lesson? Based on this lesson, what do you need to do (specifically) differently as a leader in the future? What practices or supports will you put into place to make sure that these changes get implemented? What will you do when you “fall off the wagon” and revert to your old (ineffective) ways?
Instructions
Based upon the assigned readings, you will answer all questions in paragraph form using current APA formatting (Times New Roman, 12- point font, and double spaced). A title page and reference page must be included for each Leadership Assignment Journal (LaJ). All answers must be compiled in a Word document provided in Canvas. Citations (minimum of 2) from the assigned reading are required in answering the questions. The length of the paper must be a minimum of 5 pages to maximum of 7 pages (this includes a title page and reference page).
Each Leadership Assignment Journal contains questions that must be answered only in paragraphs, and the questions are found in the module: week assigned for each Leadership Assignments Journal. All answers must be compiled in a Word document and submitted via the assignment link in the module: week. Citations from the assigned reading and a minimum of 1 Scripture are required in answering the questions. Always include a cover page and reference page.

Leadership Journal: Contingency Theories Prompt
Think of a leadership sport related situation with which you are familiar. Apply each of the theories in this chapter to that situation. Which theory best fits the interaction of the leader, followers, and situation in your example?
Can leaders be flexible in how they interact with others? Do you believe leaders can change their behavior? Their personalities?
Describe your leadership philosophy. Use 2 Scriptures to substantiate your answer.
Explain how you have created a safe environment for those under your leadership? How can you foster trust among people you lead? In what ways can you bring people together so that they can see areas of commonality?
