1.      discuss the role of the precepts in the Perennial Philosophy’s world view. This will
be the most important part of the essay; consequently, I will weigh this
section more than any other in your mark. At a minimum, address the
following questions:
How
do the precepts (or variations 1+2 exercises) relate to the overall worldview
of the Perennial Philosophy (ie. Its main goals, attitudes, and outlook)?  What is the connection between the precepts
and other aspects of the PP?
Why
would someone who adopts the WV of the PP make the vow to abstain from these
behaviors (or adopt variations 1+2 restrictions)? In other words, what function
do the precepts play and why are they important?
In
these paragraphs, you must quote from at least one source (pages 137-145
in the Dhammapada posted on moodle, the chapters from Lama Surya Das, or
any other course material), weave it into your text, and cite it properly (citation
information found below).
