Time to write your Research Article! You should follow the typical structure of original articles:
Cover Page
Introduction
Methods
Results
Discussion
Conclusion
References
The structure of your final article should look like this:
Introduction: An overview of the responsibilities of a sport event manager;
Case study: Report in detail the situation that happened in your campus under your supervision: Date, time, venue, event, actions taken immediately, actions taken in the aftermath;
Discussion: What did you learn? What would you do differently if you were on a bigger campus? Are there references in the literature to support your actions?
You should be able to use the knowledge gained in your Literature Review to write the Intro and Discussion. Also, our meetings should clarify the data that you should include in your Methods and Results, and how you should write them.
I have attached two articles as examples of style of writing you need to follow. One is a retrospective analysis (TC Barbosa_Insulin and ventilation.pdf), and the other is an original data collection (TC Barbosa_Racial differences in vascular responses to handgrip.pdf). You still will follow the instructions in the assignment regarding the elements and format; the articles are just examples. Please reach out to me if you have questions or need more instructions.
Here are specific instructions on the evaluation criteria:
COVER PAGE: A page with the title of your article, your name, and your institutional affiliations (i.e., Delta State University, and your place of internship). Feel free to use any font sizes and spacing on the cover page.
INTRODUCTION: An overview of the topic and your research hypothesis. Typically 2-3 paragraphs.
METHODS: Explain how you collected your data as if someone were to repeat your study. Consider the instructions in the assignment of Summary of Data Collection. Typically 4-5 paragraphs.
RESULTS: Briefly report your main findings that help you address your hypothesis, as well as any secondary results that you consider relevant. Consider the instructions in the assignment of Summary of Data Collection. Typically 2-3 paragraphs
DISCUSSION: Highlight if your results are in line with, or contrary to, your hypothesis. How may your findings help your professional practice? What are some remaining questions? Typically 4-5 paragraphs
CONCLUSION: The “Take-Home Message”. Just 1 paragraph
REFERENCES: You should add references to each statement in your text that is not obvious and common knowledge. You should cite your references in parenthesis in the appropriate places in the text, including the First-Author’s Last name, and the year of publication. Then, on the last page of your article, you should have all references in complete format and alphabetical order according to First-Author’s Last name. See an example:
“Regular exercise is recommended as a coping resource to lower blood pressure (BP) in hypertensive patients (Pescatello et al. 2015). However, in these patients, exercise is often accompanied by exaggerated increases in BP (Kokkinos et al. 2002).”

Authors’ names (year of publication). Article’s title. Journal’s name Volume and Pages.
FORMAT OF TEXT: Margins should be 1 inch each. The preferred font is Arial, size 12 pt. The space between lines is Single, and the space between paragraphs is 0 pt. Insert line numbers (https://shorturl.at/cdpuG) and page numbers (https://shorturl.at/giBM8).
LENGTH: Between 2,000 and 4,000 words, which amounts to 4 to 8 pages.
