In this thesis, I would want to underline the key notion that the building of new dry ports in Saudi Arabia would contribute to a significant economic change by supporting local production, logistics, import, and export.
I propose the establishment of three more dry ports in various locations of Saudi Arabia, comparable to the dry port in Riyadh.
The new ports will be placed in the Eastern, Western, and Northern regions. It is near to the industrial cities in those areas to assist the import and export of industrial products and is connected by a train network to transfer goods and containers back and forth from the marine development to dry ports.
I also put out the hypothesis that this will contribute to greater economic returns by expanding import and export and lowering the burden on infrastructure via the use of traditional modes of transportation “trucks” and enhancing the quality of life within cities.
This concept also provides a development renaissance for the areas chosen for the building of additional dry ports and creates new job possibilities.
All seaports are connected to dry ports via a train network, and handling operations, clearances, and customs are carried out within dry ports rather than seaports.
The thesis should include clear statistics of number of containers handled inside the seaports, as well as the number of containers transported by train to the dry port .
Drawings, data analysis, maps and auxiliary tools are also included that support the main idea of the thesis
