Purpose: To gain familiarity with different EHR vendors and unique offerings of their EHR products
Instructions:
1. create a tool that you can use for researching and comparing EHR vendors that would be appropriate for the provider you described in Week 4’s Assignment. The tool may be a comparison spreadsheet.
Your vendor research tool may include any information you would like; however, be sure to include the following information at a minimum:
- Name and general description of EHR vendor
- 4 Unique components that will benefit your practice. Examples include patient portal capabilities, privacy and security offerings, or anything else that you find important
- Advantages and disadvantages of selecting the vendor
- (Please note that you do not need to include information about price in your assessment)
2. After you have created your comparison tool, research 4 EHR vendors and use the research tool you created to evaluate each EHR vendor.
3. Once you have conducted your initial vendor research, recommend the top two vendors you would like your leadership team to consider when purchasing a new EHR for your practice. Your recommendation should be 2-3 paragraphs long in a separate document.
