This paper will focus on a diagnostic category (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder for example) and will consider specific interventions designed for individuals with that type of disorder.  Your focus in each of these papers will be on evidence-based non-pharmacological intervention(s)- i.e, think of types of psychological therapy/mental health interventions, here.  You may briefly include information about the use of medication (particularly if this is the gold standard, evidence supports its use for your topic), but that should not be a primary focus of the paper. 
Specific Requirements:
-Your paper will be in APA format (7th edition)
-Your paper should be 6 pages in length, minimum (using the APA style described above).  Do not forget to include internal citations and a reference list.  
-You must include at least six peer-reviewed journal references.  One of your references can be the DSM-5.  As a tip, you may want to try adding “systematic review” and/or “meta-analysis” to your literature search.  This may help you to identify good review article(s)/summaries of evidence-based interventions for your topic of choice.

Any information obtained from a magazine that could be obtained at a magazine stand in a grocery store.
Any information derived from a personal experience.
Any interview with either a child or parent familiar with the disorder or a service provider.

causes of the disorder (if you mention, this should be very brief as it is NOT the focus of the paper)
statistics regarding the disorder (if you mention, this should be very brief as it is NOT the focus of the paper)
prevalence rates based on gender or age (if you mention, this should be very brief as it is NOT the focus of the paper)
theories regarding the nature of the disorder (if you mention, this should be very brief as it is NOT the focus of the paper)
personal connection to the disorder (when I was a child…. Or my child, my friend’s child has the disorder)–> This is not appropriate content for these academic papers.
