Hi, I have to turn in the post lab and the lab guide book is captured and you should do sample calculations and discussion and conclusion. Discussion and conclusion is the most important part of the lab as well as the sample calculations.
The lab data are provided in the image file as well.
For calculations and analysis:
Calculations and Analysis
Part A: Electrochemical Reactions of Metals
Explain your recorded observations using a
table of standard reduction potentials.
In the Copper Cycle Experiment in Chem 105a,
this question was posed as “what dissolves
what?”
(Tro Reference 20.4, Appendix II-D)
Part B: Galvanic Cells
For each of the six electrochemical pairs,
compare the observed voltage with that from a
table of standard reduction potentials.
Why are the cell potentials for the cells which
include an iron half-cell inaccurate?
(Tro Appendix II-D)
Part C: Electrolytic Cells
Calculate the value of the Faraday constant using
the changes of mass for both the cathode and the
anode for both trials. Report the average and
standard deviation for the cathode results, the
anode results, and the combination of all of your
results.
Compare your experimentally determined
Faraday constant to the true value by calculating
the % error.
In your discussion and conclusion, be sure to
state possible reasons for any discrepancy
between the values obtained for the anode and the
cathode.
Discussion and conclusion needs to be written well as well with the overview of the experiment, error analysis, and concept of electrochemistry, and lab data explanation and etc.
I have posted sample post labs as well which shows the structure of how lab guides should be written.
These are the lab lectures provided:
