Weyland says that “fears of an authoritarian turn in the United States may be exaggerated….It seems unlikely that Trump could undermine democracy” (p.399). Let’s look at how he arrives at this conclusion:
-What comparisons does the author make? Why did he choose these regions? Why does he think his comparisons give a clearer picture of the threats to democracy than some other research?
